1. Data controller
The data controller is Tax And Accounting Hub Ltd, Company No. 08408126, registered office 11 Holbeach Avenue, Shortstown, Bedford, MK42 0EG. For data protection queries, contact Kader Ameen, Director, at Kader@taxandaccountinghub.com.
2. What we collect
To carry out your identity verification, we collect: full legal name, former names, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, home address and 12-month address history, personal email address, mobile number, company name/number and role (director/PSC/LLP member/general partner/person filing), identity document details (type, reference number, expiry, country of issue), and — where the digital verification route is used — biometric data (facial image and liveness data) processed by our sub-processor TrustID.
3. Why we collect it (lawful basis)
- Performance of a legal obligation — the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 and associated Companies House identity verification rules require us, as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider, to verify your identity before submitting a verification statement on your behalf.
- Substantial public interest (Data Protection Act 2018, Schedule 1) — for the limited processing of biometric data used for identity matching and fraud prevention.
- Legal obligation and legitimate interest — for anti-money-laundering customer due diligence, which is a separate but related requirement to Companies House identity verification.
5. Retention
We retain all records relating to your engagement, including documents, review checklists, and records of any failed verification attempt, for 7 years from the date your engagement is completed (or, for a failed attempt, from the date of that attempt), in line with our regulatory obligations. After this period, records are securely destroyed. This period cannot be shortened at your request.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or (in limited circumstances, given our legal retention obligations) request erasure of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability where applicable. To exercise these rights, contact Kader@taxandaccountinghub.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
7. Security
Data submitted through this website is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access to your records is restricted to authorised TAH staff and our identity verification sub-processor for the purposes described above.
9. Companies House public register note
Once your personal verification code is connected to your Companies House record, the public register will display your name, the name of your ACSP (Tax And Accounting Hub Ltd), our AML supervisory body (AAT), and the date your identity was verified. It will not display your documents, biometric data, or home address.
10. ICO registration
Tax And Accounting Hub Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller.
